As a Bartender/server, you are the center-stage of the restaurant. Key Surprise and delight guests with unique cocktails, wines, beers, and other beverages, while creating a personalized connection Maintain knowledge and strong execution of all beverages featured in our menus Deliver full food and beverage services to guests seated at the bar while offering food and drink pairings Promptly and accurately prepare beverage orders for servers and guests, providing drinks for all guests in house Helping to maintain a clean and organized bar and lounge Key Requirements Previous serving experience at a highly competent level is required Basic technical bartending knowledge including standard cocktails and highballs Strong ability to lead conversation in any setting Highly organized Comfortable sharing positive experiences about food and drink Energetic and positive Ability to demonstrate leadership and make sound judgments with confidence Opportunities With our company, you will have the chance to: Gain valuable experience in time management and communication Expand your network with new connections Advance your people skills.
Responsibilities
- Collecting payments from customers
- Operating point of sale terminals and providing bills to customers
- Cleaning the bar and the area around it
- Cleaning and up keep of all service areas
- Training new employees
- Operating blenders, coffee makers, and other equipment
- Washing glassware and bar utensils
- Monitoring bar inventory and ordering supplies and ingredients when needed
- Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial or territorial liquor and food safety regulationsGreeting customers upon arrival at the restaurant
- Providing excellent customer service during their dining experience
- Providing suggestions for food or drink choices to diners
- Taking feedback from diners
- Cleaning tables and preparing spaces for future diners
- Carrying drinks and food from the kitchen or bar area to the tables
- Memorizing the food menu and wine list as well as any nightly specials
- Setting tables throughout the shift
Skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills and the ability to keep track of customer tabs
- Food safety and preparation skills including an understanding of how viruses and bacteria can spread
- Mixology or the ability to make traditional cocktails and create new ones
- Familiarity with local liquor laws and the ability to enforce them
- Ability to use point-of-sale systems
- Ability to multitask and to cater to multiple groups at one time
- Ability to dissolve conflict, take criticism, and solve problems
- Knowledge of basic math equations, particularly addition and subtraction
- Ability to learn quickly on the job
