Front of House Manager
SeaFront Baking Company
1348 Front St, Crescent City, CA 95531, USAJob Overview
Create Unforgettable Experiences — And Lead the Team That Delivers Them
SeaFront Baking Company is looking for a Front of House Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and genuinely loves making people's day better. If you're the kind of leader who's on your feet, in the mix, greeting guests, coaching your team in real time, and solving problems before they become problems — we want to meet you.
This isn't a desk job — but it does require someone who's just as comfortable with a spreadsheet as they are on the floor. It's a run-the-floor, lead-from-the-front role for someone who gets fired up by a packed dining room and a team firing on all cylinders.
Schedule: This role requires availability Tuesday through Saturday.
What You'll Do
- Lead the team. Hire, onboard, coach, and develop a Front of House staff that's confident, capable, and proud to wear the SeaFront name.
- Own the guest experience. Set the hospitality standard, train your team to create genuine moments of delight, and handle guest concerns like a pro.
- Run tight, efficient shifts. Build shift structures, manage labor, keep service flowing, and execute opening/closing procedures that just work.
- Manage the numbers. Build and manage labor budgets, track and order inventory, and use computer systems/software to keep operations on track and costs in line.
- Be present. Work the floor, greet guests, check tables, support your team, and jump in wherever you're needed.
- Develop future leaders. Mentor your Shift Leads and build the bench strength that lets SeaFront keep growing.
- Keep the vibe right. Maintain a clean, welcoming, coastal-inspired dining room that guests want to come back to (and tell their friends about).
- Other tasks assigned by leadership
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You're hospitality-driven — you see every guest interaction as a chance to create something memorable.
- You lead with humble confidence: strong presence, but always coachable.
- You're calm under pressure and thrive during the rush, not despite it.
- You're organized and systems-oriented — checklists and structure are your friends.
- You're comfortable with computers and basic software — managing labor budgets, inventory tracking, and scheduling tools (POS systems, spreadsheets, scheduling software, etc.).
- You're a natural communicator and problem-solver who can think on your feet.
- You bring positive energy to every shift and make work feel like a place people are glad to be.
- Coffee and espresso knowledge is a plus, but not required — we're happy to train the right person.
- You're available to work Tuesday through Saturday.
What Success Looks Like
- Guests who rave about their visit
- A confident, well-trained team that runs shifts smoothly
- A dining room that feels welcoming, organized, and full of good energy
- Labor and inventory kept on budget through smart, proactive management
- A culture built on respect, accountability, and fun
Benefits
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Retirement plan
- Employee product discounts
