Job Overview

Job Purpose

  • Servicing customers with food and drink by providing a pleasant dining and social experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet tables
  • Understand and be knowledgable of each item on food and drink menus.
  • Describe food and drink specials and take drink orders
  • Take meal orders
  • Give guests’ special requests to captain
  • Take dessert and coffee/after-dinner drink orders
  • Run food if and when needed or required
  • Reset/bus or pre-bus tables if needed or required
  • Prepare bill for guest
  • Process bill payment
  • Must maintain proper dress code/attire
  • Be friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable of menu, specials and accommodating to all guests
  • Works with Dining Room Captain as part of a team
  • Complete necessary prep work prior to service and complete necessary side work after service
  • Follow New York State Liquor Authority and beverage service related laws
  • Follow Suffolk County Department of Health Food and Beverage service laws and regulations

Physical Requirement

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
