Mojave Gold is a new bar, restaurant, and live music venue opening in Yucca Valley. Our kitchen team is the backbone of it all — and we’re looking for people who love working with fresh ingredients, take pride in clean prep, and want to grow with us.
We’re hiring an early bird to help us get set up for success every day. As an Opening Prep Cook, you’ll handle foundational kitchen tasks — chopping, prepping, portioning, organizing, and assisting wherever needed. For the right person, this role offers a clear path to becoming a Line Cook as we grow and expand our menu.

Responsibilities

  • Prep ingredients daily following recipes and standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station
  • Label and date all food items properly
  • Support the kitchen team with setup for service
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and teammates
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

You Are

  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with knives, kitchen tools, and basic prep techniques
  • Able to work quickly and cleanly under pressure
  • Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Able to lift 30–50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
  • Available for early morning and daytime shifts
  • Passionate about food and hospitality

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

  • Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or prep role
  • Interest in eventually working the line or learning new skills
