Monona Bakery & Eatery is looking for dependable, hardworking Line Cooks to join our back-of-house team.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion guidelines, and quality standards
  • Set up, stock, and maintain your station before and throughout service
  • Follow tickets accurately and coordinate with the kitchen team to serve orders promptly
  • Prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, portioning, and labeling
  • Follow food safety procedures, including proper cooking temperatures, storage, date labeling, and prevention of cross-contamination
  • Keep work surfaces, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized
  • Communicate clearly about order timing, ingredient needs, and food quality
  • Complete opening and closing duties and support shared kitchen cleaning tasks

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous line cook or commercial kitchen experience is preferred. We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Reliable and shows up ready to work
  • Comfortable managing multiple orders in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Attentive to food quality, consistency, and cleanliness
  • Willing to learn our menu, follow recipes, and take direction
  • A supportive teammate who communicates respectfully
  • Able to stay active and on their feet throughout a shift
  • Conversational in both English and Spanish. Our kitchen manager speaks Spanish, and many of our staff speak English, so team members need to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Open availability is strongly preferred. We especially need team members who can work a combination of mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.

Pay & Perks

  • $17–$21/hour starting pay, based on experience
