Job Overview

Now Hiring: Front of House Manager – Bar West
📍 Richmond, VA
Bar West is looking for a hands-on, high-energy FoH Manager to help lead our team, drive revenue, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, know how to run a floor, and can balance operations, events, and team leadership, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
As a FoH Manager, you’ll be a vital team member working alongside of the Directors of Operations and Marketing, helping lead all front-of-house operations while driving performance across service, events, and staffing.
Lead the Floor

  • Run shifts as Manager on Duty and take full ownership of service execution
  • Stay active on the floor—directing staff, adjusting flow, and ensuring a great guest experience
  • Jump in where needed and lead by example

Drive Business Performance

  • Manage labor in real time to hit targets and maximize efficiency
  • Build and adjust schedules based on business levels
  • Monitor key metrics like sales, labor %, and guest spend
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling and programming

Own Events & Guest Experience

  • Manage the full event process—from inquiry to execution
  • Respond to leads quickly and follow up consistently
  • Ensure events run smoothly and exceed guest expectations
  • Work closely with our events team on large parties and buyouts

Develop the Team

  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of FOH staff
  • Set clear expectations and maintain high standards
  • Support hiring, training, and ongoing development
  • Help build a strong, positive team culture

Support Programming & Growth

  • Help execute themed nights, events, and promotions
  • Contribute ideas that drive traffic and repeat business
  • Work with leadership on marketing and guest engagement

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in a high-volume restaurant or bar
  • At least 1 year in a management or leadership role
  • Strong floor presence—you know how to run a shift, not just manage from the office
  • Experience with events or high-energy hospitality concepts is a big plus
  • Comfortable with POS systems (Toast preferred) and scheduling tools (7shifts)
  • Organized, accountable, and able to handle multiple priorities

What You Can Expect

  • Full-time role (40–50 hours/week)
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays required
  • Opportunity to grow with a concept that values events, energy, and guest experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Performance Bonus: Bonus structure tied to revenue growth and bottom-line performance
  • Health Insurance: 50% employer-paid
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Opportunity for growth within a dynamic, event-driven concept

Why Bar West
