LINE COOK
We are a busy gastropub located in Chandler, AZ and are currently looking for multiple, high energy candidates for different positions in a fast pace kitchen. We are a growing company with new locations coming, and plenty of room for career growth!
Our ideal line cook candidate has previous experience on a large-scale kitchen line with steaks, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a variety of handcrafted entrees. One who can take direction as well as lead a line while multitasking different stations and enjoys cooking! We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu.
Experience in the restaurant can be minimal as long as one is willing and able to quickly learn and grasp all areas of the kitchen. However, proven cooking experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Line Cook Qualifications:
- Candidates must be punctual and dedicated to work their scheduled shifts. Shifts vary from morning breakfast shifts to closing night shifts.
- Must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends.
- Attire must be clean and appropriate for the working shift and all employees must be well groomed
- Must have slip resistant shoes
- Candidates need to have a food handler certification or obtain one within 15 days of hire date
- All must be able to measure products and build recipes to spec per our menu
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Must have knowledge or understanding of cooling and reheating practices as well as holding temperatures based off of the Arizona Health Department
- Required to restocking daily and properly dating items throughout the kitchen
- Ensure that all areas and surfaces are properly cleaned, organized and sanitized on a daily basis
