Job Title: SERVER
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guest Service
· Coordinate with Hosts and utilize available technology and resources to promptly seat guests with a consideration for efficiency of general operations.
· Provide menus and accurately answer questions regarding menu items, specials, not-in-stock items, and beverage options.
· Accurately and efficiently accept food and beverage orders.
· Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner.
· Ensure guests have a positive dining experience by addressing any concerns promptly. - Order Management:
· Effectively utilize the POS system to accurately take, manage, and transact orders.
· Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.
· Monitor tables to anticipate guests’ needs and respond to requests promptly. - Table Maintenance:
· Assist Host and other floor staff in clearing and resetting tables to achieve and maintain turnover time goals.
· Refill drinks, clear plates, and maintain general cleanliness of dining areas.
· Ensure that all table settings, menus, condiments, and marketing collateral are present and clean for each re-setting. - Payment Processing:
· Present bills, accept payments, operate the POS system, and make correct change.
· Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally. - Team Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with kitchen, managers, and other restaurant staff to provide exceptional dining experiences to guests, while actively working to minimize waste, loss, and operating inefficiencies.
· Assist in training and mentoring new Servers and Hosts as needed.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment. - Compliance and Safety:
· Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
· Follow all health and safety regulations.
· Ensure that alcoholic beverages are served in compliance with local laws. - Promotional Activities:
· Promote daily specials and other restaurant offerings.
· Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. - Additional Duties:
· Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
· Assist with special events and catering as assigned.
· Accurately complete takeout and delivery orders as required.
Required Skills: - Customer Service:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to provide a high level of hospitality and guest service. - Detail Orientation:
· Accurate order taking and processing.
· Attention to detail in maintaining table settings and cleanliness. - Multitasking Ability:
· Effectively manage multiple tasks and tables simultaneously.
· Prioritize tasks to ensure timely service. - POS System Proficiency:
· Achieve a high-level of familiarity with the POS, Reservations, and other systems as necessary for efficient seating, order entry and payment processing.
· Basic math skills for handling payments and making change. - Food and Beverage Knowledge:
· Understanding of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
· Knowledge of wine, beer, and cocktails for recommending pairings. - Problem-Solving Skills:
· Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues effectively.
· Adaptability to various guest needs and requests. - Teamwork:
· Ability to work collaboratively with restaurant staff.
· Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment. - Physical Stamina:
· Capability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
· Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
· Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Food handler’s certification.
