Host / Service Support

Bricolage is a long-established Park Slope neighborhood restaurant known for its Vietnamese-French cuisine and craft cocktails, located in a beautiful artist-designed space.

We value professionalism, reliability, and hospitality professionals who take pride in creating a thoughtful and welcoming guest experience. As a neighborhood restaurant with many returning guests, the host plays a key role in setting the tone for service and maintaining the flow of the dining room.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable running the door during busy service, managing reservations and walk-ins, and coordinating closely with the service team to maintain a smooth dining room flow.

Our team works collaboratively across roles, and hosts also assist with serving support, running food, and general floor support when needed.

At least 2 years restaurant experience required.
Full-service restaurant experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• warmly welcome and seat guests
• manage reservations and seating using reservation software
• coordinate walk-in guests and maintain waitlists
• communicate accurate wait times and notify waiting guests
• manage table flow and timing to support smooth service
• coordinate with servers and management regarding table status and pacing
• answer phones and assist guests with reservations and questions
• maintain organization and cleanliness of the host stand and entrance area
• assist with running food, water service, and resetting tables when needed
• support the service team to ensure a great guest experience before, during, and after service
• assist with opening and closing duties
• communicate guest concerns or issues to management
• maintain professional appearance and service standards
• be punctual and able to reliably commute to the restaurant

Skills and Requirements

• excellent communication and phone skills
• familiarity with POS and reservation systems (Resy experience a plus)

• reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
• flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
