Front of House Support

KISS Cafe & Bagels by KISS – Johns Island, SC
Position Type: Part-Time with Potential to Become Full-Time
KISS Cafe & Bagels by KISS is looking for a friendly, dependable, and energetic individual to join our team as Front of House Support. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming guest experience and supporting the smooth flow of service.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable moving between hosting, bussing, and food-running responsibilities based on the needs of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

Hosting

• Warmly greet guests as they arrive.
• Manage the waitlist and provide accurate estimated wait times.
• Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper table rotation.
• Answer basic questions about the restaurant and menu.
• Keep the host area clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Communicate guest counts, large parties, and special needs to managers, servers, and the kitchen.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

Bussing and Dining Room Support

• Clear, clean, sanitize, and reset tables promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room, patio, and guest areas.
• Refill waters and assist servers with guest needs when appropriate.
• Stock service stations with glassware, silverware, napkins, and other supplies.
• Remove used dishes and deliver them to the proper dishwashing area.
• Assist with opening, closing, and ongoing cleaning responsibilities.
• Help keep walkways and service areas clean and free of hazards.

Food Running

• Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct tables promptly and accurately.
• Verify table numbers, seat positions, and any special requests before leaving the kitchen.
• Announce dishes clearly and professionally when serving guests.
• Ensure guests have the necessary condiments, utensils, and accompaniments.
• Communicate missing items, guest concerns, or food-quality issues immediately.
• Help maintain an organized and efficient food pickup area.

Qualifications

• Friendly, positive, and guest-focused attitude.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to assist wherever needed during service.
• Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right person.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to safely lift and carry trays, bus tubs, and supplies weighing approximately 25–30 pounds.
• Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.
