My Tea Corner is looking for an energetic, skilled chef for expanding Café operations. Our chef will be responsible for new menu development, ensuring quality of food, managing kitchen and restaurant efficiency and maintaining a positive environment for both customers and staff.

THE MISSION My Tea Corner exists to provide deliciously healthy boba and snack options to a world filled with artificial additives and preprocessed ingredients. We care deeply about our staff, our products, and aim to be consistent with our quality. We’re serious about having fun! We want to provide a memorable experience to our customers, family, friends and staff.
Ideally our chef will have a culinary education and has experimented and willing to showcase exciting, delectable breakfast, snack, and dessert menu items. We are seeking a strong leader that is humble and positive and can inspire, collaborate and engage others around him/ her. Our chef must be transparent and a great communicator.
Our Chef will be responsible for:

  • Menu: Production and costing of menu and new dishes, in liaison with owner. Experience in Asian culinary dishes/ technique is a plus.

  • Preparation and Delivery: Preparing and delivering a high standard of consistent service and efficiency for their shift and, through training, on all shifts.

  • Kitchen Management: Ensure the kitchen and restaurant is kept clean and hygienic at all times, and that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.

  • Inventory Management: Manage daily, weekly and monthly inventory, including ordering dairy products, supplies and conduct regular stock takes to minimize waste.

  • Business Management: Collaborate with owners on ideation and business performance.

  • Staff Training: Train, onboard all staff to fully execute the menu.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations by maintaining cleanliness standards and scheduling regular equipment maintenance.

  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills ·

  • Have basic culinary knowledge, have experience with developing new menu items including but not limited to breakfast, lunch, and desserts.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekend and holiday with weekend availability (both Saturday and Sunday) is a must ·

  • Honest, caring, innovative and fun ·

  • Food Safety Conscientious. Currently holds a Food Manager Certificate or is able to acquire one within 45 days of hire. ·

  • Ability to safely operate fryer, grill, oven, blender, dicer and other restaurant equipment ·

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and minimal to no supervision ·

  • Basic math skills ·

  • Legible handwriting

  • Physical Requirements Ability to: · Lift up to 50lbs on occasion, less weight more frequently · Stand on your feet for extended periods of time (most of shift), Kneel, crouch, · Reach, hold, blend, shake, finger dexterity · Far and near visual acuity · Talking and Hearing · Taste
    - Hours: Friday to Sunday – review with owner on options
    Pay: $22 - $27/ hr
    *Our Chef may assume full responsibility of managing restaurant staff depending on demonstrated leadership and experience.
