Lennon's (located at 16 West Jefferson Avenue in Naperville, IL) is seeking a fast-paced, detail-oriented Food Runner to serve as the vital link between our kitchen and dining room.
Position Overview
As a Food Runner, accuracy and timing are your primary focus. You will ensure that dishes leave the kitchen expediting line perfectly prepared, meet our presentation standards, and arrive at the correct guest table immediately.
Key Responsibilities

  • Dish Delivery: Carry food trays efficiently from the kitchen to the dining room, identifying and placing the correct plates in front of each guest.
  • Menu Accuracy: Quality-check every plate against the order ticket before it leaves the kitchen window, verifying modifications and allergies.
  • Garnish & Detail: Apply final garnishes or sauces to dishes as directed by the kitchen chef or expediter.
  • Table Support: Answer immediate guest questions at the table, deliver extra utensils or condiments, and alert servers to any immediate table needs.
  • Station Maintenance: Assist the kitchen line by keeping expo supplies stocked, wiping counters, and returning empty trays.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Speed & Stamina: Ability to stay on your feet, move quickly through a busy dining room, and carry heavy, hot food trays (up to 30 lbs).
  • Sharp Focus: Excellent memory and strong attention to detail to ensure perfect order accuracy.
  • Communication: Clear, respectful communication skills under pressure when interacting with both kitchen chefs and front-of-house staff.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including peak weekend rushes, evenings, and holidays.
  • Experience: Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but we will train candidates with the right work ethic.
