CONTENT PRODUCER & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Cornerstone Pub and Prime
26753 Forest Blvd, Wyoming, MN 55092, USAJob Overview
Cornerstone Pub and Prime + Beyond the Bar Podcast
FULL-TIME | $50,000-$65,000 SALARY | IN-PERSON | TRAVEL | NIGHTS, WEEKENDS & MOST HOLIDAYS REQUIRED
WE'RE LOOKING FOR TALENT, DRIVE & POTENTIAL - NOT THE PERFECT RESUME.
Cornerstone Pub & Prime and the Beyond the Bar Podcast are looking for a full-time Content Producer & Social Media Manager to help us tell our stories, grow our audience and build our brands.
We're looking for a jack of all trades content creator with a strong foundation in video.
You don't need 10 years of experience.
You don't need a marketing degree.
You don't need to have worked for a big agency.
But you do need to know how to create.
Maybe you learned video production in school. Maybe you taught yourself. Maybe you've been creating content on the side and are ready to turn it into your career.
We care a lot more about what you can actually do than where you learned how to do it.
THIS ISN'T A TYPICAL SOCIAL MEDIA JOB
We don't want someone sitting behind a desk waiting for us to tell them what to post.
We want someone who can eventually walk into Cornerstone and say:
- "I have an idea. Grab a mic."
- "We need to film this."
- "Give me 20 minutes today. Here's what we're shooting."
- "This content is working. We need to do more of it."
- "I think we're missing an opportunity here."
We're looking for someone who can take the ball and run with it.
As you learn our brands, personalities and audience, we want you to start directing us.
At the same time, there will be times when we have a very specific vision. You need to be able to listen, take direction and bring that vision to life.
The right person can lead, collaborate, take coaching and execute.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll work directly with the owner to create and manage content for Cornerstone Pub & Prime and the Beyond the Bar Podcast.
Responsibilities include:
- Shoot and edit video
- Produce and edit the Beyond the Bar Podcast
- Create Instagram and Facebook Reels
- Create TikToks
- Create YouTube Shorts
- Produce longer-form video and YouTube content
- Take food and cocktail photography
- Capture restaurant photography
- Capture employee and customer stories
- Cover events and live entertainment
- Create behind-the-scenes content
- Write and publish social media posts
- Help manage our social media channels
- Build and maintain a content calendar
- Capture and organize B-roll
- Travel with the owner to capture stories and experiences
- Identify trends and content opportunities
- Track followers, views, reach and engagement
- Help develop our overall content strategy
One day you might be producing a podcast.
The next day you're photographing a new menu item.
That weekend you might be filming a packed restaurant or special event.
Then you're looking at the analytics and figuring out what we should do next.
YOU NEED THE TECHNICAL FOUNDATION
We're willing to teach.
But we're not starting from zero.
You should already have working knowledge of:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- DSLR/mirrorless cameras and basic cinematography
- Composition and framing
- Lighting
- Audio and microphones
- Photography
- Basic photo editing
- Short-form vertical video
- Instagram/Facebook Reels
- TikTok
- YouTube Shorts
You don't need to be an expert at everything.
But if we hand you a camera, microphone, lights and footage, you should understand what you're doing.
Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, graphic design, podcast production and social analytics is a plus - not necessarily a requirement.
FAST CONTENT + POLISHED CONTENT
This is extremely important.
Not every video should take six hours to edit.
Some content needs to be:
SHOOT - EDIT - POST.
A funny moment in the restaurant might need to be online within an hour.
A quick owner thought might be filmed on an iPhone, captioned and posted the same day.
A trend might only be relevant for 48 hours.
That's FAST CONTENT.
Other projects deserve more.
A Beyond the Bar feature, major restaurant promotion or important brand story might require professional cameras, lighting, audio, B-roll and several hours of editing.
That's POLISHED CONTENT.
We need someone capable of both - and smart enough to learn when each is appropriate.
WE WANT A STORYTELLER
Camera skills matter.
Premiere Pro matters.
Photography matters.
But one of the biggest things we're looking for is someone who can recognize when there's a story happening.
Our restaurant is full of them.
- Employees have stories.
- Customers have stories.
- Our community has stories.
- Podcast guests have stories.
- The owner has stories.
- The restaurant itself has stories.
Some of our best content won't be scheduled on a calendar.
It will happen right in front of you.
We want to eventually reach the point where we ask:
"Did somebody get that?"
And you say:
"Already got it."
YOU'LL TRAVEL WITH US
This isn't a desk-only marketing position.
There will be times when we want you to grab your camera and come with us.
That could include:
- Podcast interviews
- Restaurants and other businesses
- Conferences
- Community events
- Special events
- Behind-the-scenes experiences
- Trips
- Interesting people
- Stories we think are worth telling
Sometimes we'll know exactly what we're going to shoot.
Sometimes your job will be to find the story once we get there.
SCHEDULE, WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS
This is a hospitality content position.
Our biggest content opportunities often happen when everyone else is off work.
Nights, weekends and most holidays are required.
Cornerstone is currently closed:
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
We are open on other holidays, and availability will be expected when the restaurant, events or content schedule requires it.
SEASONAL AVAILABILITY IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT.
The Christmas/holiday season is our busiest season of the year.
The Halloween season is our second-busiest season.
Those aren't the times when our marketing slows down.
Those are the times when we need our content person the most.
The restaurant is busy. People are celebrating. Events are happening. Food and drinks are going out. The building has energy.
That's when there's content everywhere.
This does not mean you'll work every night, every weekend or every holiday.
It does mean your schedule needs to be flexible around the business, events and content opportunities - particularly during our busiest seasons.
If you're looking strictly for a Monday-Friday, 9-5 marketing position, this probably isn't the right opportunity for you.
WE'RE HIRING YOU TO GROW THE BRANDS
Success isn't:
"We posted five times this week."
We want measurable growth.
We'll establish baselines and track KPIs including:
- Follower and subscriber growth
- Video views
- Reach
- Watch time
- Shares
- Saves
- Comments
- Engagement
- Content output
- Publishing consistency
- Editing turnaround time
- Content quality
- Podcast growth
We expect you to look at what's working and help answer:
- What should we do more of?
- What should we stop doing?
- What should we try next?
WE ALSO CARE ABOUT YOUR GROWTH
We're not expecting you to walk through the door knowing everything.
We want someone who gets better.
Are your videos better three months from now?
Are you editing faster?
Are you getting better with lighting?
Are your photos improving?
Are you finding stronger hooks?
Are you recognizing better stories?
Are you bringing us more ideas?
Are you requiring less direction?
That's success too.
WHO COULD BE GREAT AT THIS?
You might be:
- A recent graduate with a great portfolio
- A self-taught videographer
- A photographer who's gotten heavily into video
- A junior video editor ready for more responsibility
- A creator who's been doing this on the side
- Someone at an agency who wants more creative ownership
- Someone who hasn't gotten their big opportunity yet
We're not obsessed with how many years you've been doing this.
We care about a few simple questions:
- Can you do the job?
- Can you learn?
- Can you take coaching and feedback?
- Can you take an idea and run with it?
- Can you make us better?
THE OPPORTUNITY
This isn't a narrowly defined corporate marketing job.
You're going to get your hands on almost everything:
- Video
- Photography
- Podcasting
- Social media
- Food
- Events
- Travel
- Storytelling
- Brand building
You'll work directly with the owner and have an opportunity to influence what these brands become.
We're growing, and we want someone who's excited to grow with us.
COMPENSATION
Salary: $50,000-$65,000/year
Compensation will be based on experience, technical ability, portfolio and demonstrated skills.
This is a full-time employee position - not freelance or contract work.
Nights, weekends, most holidays and occasional travel are required.
SHOW US. DON'T JUST TELL US.
We'll look at your resume.
But we're going to spend a lot more time looking at your work.
Please include:
- Resume
- Portfolio or demo reel
- Videos you've personally shot
- Videos you've personally edited
- Reels, TikToks or Shorts you've created
- Photography examples
- Podcast or long-form video work
- Social media accounts you've worked on
- Personal, school or freelance projects you're proud of
Personal projects absolutely count.
If something was created by a team, tell us exactly what YOU did.
Did you shoot it? Edit it? Light it? Record the audio? Write it? Direct it? Come up with the concept?
We want to know.
WHEN YOU APPLY, BE READY TO ANSWER:
- What's the piece of content you're most proud of, and why?
- Show us something you created FAST. How long did it take?
- What's something about video, photography or social media you're currently trying to improve?
- What's something related to this field that you taught yourself?
- If you started with Cornerstone and Beyond the Bar tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd want to film?
We're not looking for someone who already knows everything.
We're looking for someone who has the foundation, creativity, work ethic and drive to become really damn good.
If that's you, show us what you've got.
