Job Title: Hostess

Job Summary

The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and organized dining experience. This position manages reservations, greets guests, and coordinates seating to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave
  • Manage waitlists and accurately quote wait times
  • Seat guests in a timely manner while balancing server sections
  • Answer phone calls
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
  • Assist in coordinating large parties and special requests
  • Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff
  • Monitor dining room flow and adjust seating as needed
  • Provide menus and inform guests of specials or promotions

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Basic math and organizational skills
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 15–20 lbs (menus, small items, etc.)
