Timuquana Country Club is a traditional private club located on the banks of the St. John’s River in Jacksonville, Florida. Open six days a week, 12 months per year, the 103 year-old, member-owned club has 1,100 member families. Facilities include a 50,000 square foot clubhouse including three member dining areas and private function rooms, large outdoor event and recreation lawn, wrap around patio, floating dock, 18-hole Donald Ross golf course, golf practice facility, eight outdoor tennis courts, fitness center with group exercise studio, locker rooms with dry saunas, and a resort style, heated zero entry swimming pool overlooking the St. John’s River. The Club is in the process of completing its next phase of its facility master plan; the Golf Performance Center and Pickleball Facility set to open May 2026.

Job Summary
Timuquana Country Club is seeking a Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team for weekend morning service. This position focuses on the preparation and execution of breakfast and brunch offerings while delivering consistently high‑quality food and service in a warm, welcoming environment inspired by Southern hospitality.

The Breakfast Cook plays a key role in early‑morning kitchen operations, ensuring timely service, proper food handling, and excellent presentation for our members and guests.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations
(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Execute daily breakfast and brunch production, including à la carte and buffet service, with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down assigned breakfast station(s) efficiently for morning service.
  • Prepare breakfast menu items including eggs, breakfast meats, baked goods, griddle items, and accompaniments according to club standards.
  • Complete prep sheets and ensure all items are properly stocked and ready for service.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of breakfast menu items, including preparation methods, allergens, and proper presentation.
  • Follow club standards for timing, plating, sanitation, and overall kitchen etiquette.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen before, during, and after service; ensure all equipment and work areas are clean and sanitary.
  • Execute daily and weekly cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership regarding production needs, improvements, or maintenance issues.
  • Assist with responding to member feedback related to breakfast service with professionalism and urgency.
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through appearance, communication, and follow‑through.
  • Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented kitchen culture.

Ideal Qualifications, Abilities, and Principles:
Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred; Diploma from culinary school will be an advantage.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to speak and write English.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a cook; experience in Private Clubs, Hotel or Resort preferred.
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bake ware.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.).
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in meat fabrication.
  • Food Handlers Certification (club can help you acquire).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information and respond to questions from member/guests, managers, and peers.
  • Ability to identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and problem solve.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and work as a team.
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, anticipates the needs of others and is willing to acquire new skills.
  • Willingness to be taught and trained.
  • Well organized and detailed oriented.
  • High cleanliness standards.

Availability**

  • Part‑time, weekend‑only position
  • Saturdays and Sundays, 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Ability to work early mornings consistently is required.
  • Holiday availability may be required when applicable.

Base Pay

  • $18.00/hr
