Job Overview

Responsibilities 

  • Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant
  • Embodying the 'face of the restaurant mentality" by giving the best first impression to guests as they enter
  • Answering the phone and helping guests with any requests/questions/issues
  • Helping guests with making reservations over the phone or in person
  • Taking to-go orders and processing payments
  • Knowledge of menu items and ability to answer menu-related questions
  • Locating guest reservations and guiding them to their table
  • Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
  • Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff
  • Cleaning and organizing various types of menus before, after + during service
  • Communicate seating to servers
  • Stock silverware and plates at host stand
  • Confirm large party reservations over the phone at shift start
  • Note all special requests and requirements for each reservation
  • Communicate with manager on duty for any issues/questions/concerns
