Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to drive the quality assurance strategy, test automation, and release reliability across our software platforms. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, establish quality standards across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and ensure our applications meet high performance, security, and functional standards. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to catch defects early, streamline testing pipelines, and champion a culture of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & Framework Strategy

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks for web, mobile, and API applications.
  • Expand automated test coverage including functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end (E2E) testing suites.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD build pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid, confident release cycles.

Quality Process & Test Execution

  • Analyze product requirements, design specs, and user stories to create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and strategy documents.
  • Execute manual exploratory testing alongside automated suites to identify complex edge cases, UX flaws, and functional regressions.
  • Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects through resolution, working directly with engineering teams to perform root cause analysis.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with product managers and backend/frontend engineers during initial design phases to ensure testability and prevent architectural defects.
  • Establish QA best practices, testing standards, and metrics (e.g., code coverage, defect density, pass rates) across development teams.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers, conduct peer test code reviews, and drive continuous improvement in quality engineering tools and practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Automation Tools & Frameworks: Deep experience with modern automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Appium, or Puppeteer.
  • Programming & Scripting: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java for writing maintainable test code.
  • API Testing: Hands-on experience with RESTful and GraphQL API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or Supertest.
  • CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Familiarity with integrating test automation into CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).
  • Databases & Tools: Proficiency in SQL for backend data verification and experience with issue-tracking tools like Jira.

Soft Skills & Domain Requirements

  • Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate technical defects and test strategies.
  • Proactive approach to identifying risks early in the development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated software quality engineering and test automation experience.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Locust).
  • Knowledge of security testing principles (OWASP Top 10) and web accessibility testing standards (WCAG).
