Bibinger's is a gastropub specializing in various craft Old Fashioned's and a food menu that is 100% made from scratch with locally sourced ingredients. Bibinger's is housed in a historically important building that dates back to 1846, which has been completely renovated but keeps to the building's vintage, rustic roots.

We need a Sous Chef that is highly organized, self-starting, creative and hard-working. This role will operate as our Chef's right hand person and will be a key player as we continue to grow our company. The right person has a strong focus on details and a commitment for delivering exceptional food to our guests, 100% of the time. Consistency is the key ingredient to a successful restaurant and is able to hold their staff accountable to that same standard. Having a positive mindset and being able to lead a team are a must! Our focus is on quality, so we do not have a large menu, instead we focus on utilizing seasonal menu changes in order to not only keep things interesting for our guests, but to take advantage of freshest ingredients possible.

You should have at least 1-2 years of kitchen management experience as well as experience with ordering, inventory, prep, staff training, line cooking and banquets. With guidance from the chef, an understanding of food cost, labor cost and ordering budgets will be necessary. Creativity and understanding of seasonality and flavor profiles is appreciated to assist the chef in creating daily features and desserts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Chef to help develop and/or maintain recipes, to deliver exceptional quality of product to guests
  • Assist in coaching and mentoring the other BOH staff to raise their culinary skillset in order to facilitate the best and consistent guest experience possible.
  • Order, receive, & inspect all food ingredients
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed with all restaurant employees
  • Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance procedures and standards for all equipment and BOH areas

Qualifications

  • Two-years prior experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager or other BOH supervisory role
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced kitchens
  • Knowledge of banquets a plus
  • Active ServSafe Certification
