Biltmore Forest Country Club is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Cook to join our Culinary Team. This role supports our Pastry Chef in producing high-quality baked goods and desserts for members and guests, ranging from daily breads and pastries to elegant buffet displays and event cakes. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating exquisite pastries and desserts that enhance our members' dining experiences, reflecting our commitment to high-quality service.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about pastry work, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and takes pride in consistency, creativity, and presentation.
Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing baked goods such as breads, rolls, muffins, cakes, pastries, desserts, puddings, and gelatins with artistic flair.
  • Working the dessert station during dinner service and assisting with buffet dessert tables
  • Assisting with event cake production and menu changes
  • Maintaining bakery sanitation and cleanliness standards
  • Setting up, maintaining, and breaking down pastry stations
  • Communicating with the Pastry Chef on production needs and shortages
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous baking/pastry experience required
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency with modern kitchen equipment
  • Cake decorating skills required; chocolate work a plus
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation
  • Strong skills in cake decorating and baking techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity in dessert presentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
