At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our cooks bring the heart of Spain to every shift—whether it’s preparing morning mise en place for the day ahead or firing up signature dishes during a lively dinner service. From breakfast prep to dinner execution, you’ll work with precision, creativity, and pride, ensuring every plate reflects our high standards of flavor, presentation, and hospitality.

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare mise en place for assigned station (grill, sauté, fry, or other hot stations).
  • Execute dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of your station at all times.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure consistency across shifts.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during AM and PM shifts.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
  • Support other stations and assist with prep as needed.

Skills 

  • Previous cooking experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques for hot foods.
  • Flexibility to work both AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain).
