Job Responsibilities of a Host/To-Go:

Greeting and Customer Interaction:Greet customers warmly when they enter or call to place a to-go order.
Provide menus, explain specials, or answer questions about the menu and offerings. -
Managing To-Go Orders:Take orders for pick-up or delivery, ensuring that customers’ requests are clearly noted.
Double-check all items in the order for accuracy before handing them over to the customer. -
Organizing Orders:Ensure all items (food, condiments, utensils, etc.) are packed properly and neatly.
Label orders clearly with the customer’s name, order number, or time of pick-up. -
Phone Handling:Answer phones promptly, take orders accurately, and assist customers with menu questions.
Confirm to-go order details (timing, delivery/pick-up options, and payment). -
Coordinating with Kitchen and Staff:Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
Manage any special requests (dietary restrictions, preferences) with the kitchen. -
Payment and Transactions:Process payments, whether in person or over the phone, accurately using the POS system.
Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with attention to security and accuracy. -
Ensuring Customer Satisfaction:Ensure timely and accurate orders for both in-house guests and those ordering to-go.
Address any customer complaints or issues with a focus on resolving them professionally. -
Maintain Cleanliness:Keep the to-go station, counter, and surrounding areas clean and organized.
Ensure all packaging materials, condiments, and napkins are stocked and ready for use. -
Managing Delivery (If Applicable):Coordinate with delivery drivers or third-party delivery services to ensure timely deliveries.
Confirm order details with drivers before dispatch. -
Upselling:Suggest additional items (desserts, drinks, appetizers) or promotions to enhance the customer's order.
