Job Summary
Located off of Island Lake in Duluth, Northern Lights Taverna is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a dishwasher. Part-time position with the possibility of full-time for a committed individual. Pay to be discussed. In addition to our main kitchen, we also have a concession-style stand serving ice cream and foods such as cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and cold sandwiches through the summer. Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to food safety and sanitation standards

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen, and other designated workspaces

  • Properly sort and put away clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies to ensure they are readily available for service

  • Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and sanitation tasks, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning equipment, and taking out trash

  • Monitor dishwashing supplies and notify management when soap, sanitizer, or other cleaning products need replenishing

  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen supplies as needed

  • Support kitchen operations by keeping dishes and equipment moving efficiently during busy service periods

  • Follow proper food safety procedures, workplace safety guidelines, and cleaning protocols

  • Assist with additional kitchen tasks as needed, including basic food preparation and general upkeep

Qualifications

  • Previous dishwashing or restaurant experience is preferred but not required

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards

  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to take initiative

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and carrying kitchen supplies

  • Willingness to learn new tasks and assist with various kitchen duties as needed

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and flexibility with changing priorities
