Shift start and end times may vary based on prep and closing duties
Hours of Operation: 7am-3pm Daily
Compensation: Starting wage $13-$18 per hour (negotiable based on experience and credentials)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Our open kitchen concept allows guests a glimpse into the culinary world, emphasizing our commitment to transparency, hospitality, and professionalism. As a Line Cook for The Toast Cafe, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining a professional demeanor and engaging with guests. Your ability to work efficiently, communicate effectively, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality will be essential to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare and Cook: Execute menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
•Maintain Cleanliness: Keep your workstation clean and organized, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
•Guest Interaction: Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and providing a glimpse into the culinary process.
•Collaborate: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure a seamless dining experience.
•Monitor Inventory: Assist in managing inventory, including the proper storage and rotation of ingredients to control food waste.
•Stay Updated: Keep abreast of new cooking techniques and trends to bring fresh ideas to the kitchen.
•Handle Pressure: Perform well in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak service hours.
•Adhere to Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations and culinary best practices.
Qualifications:
•. Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a high-volume kitchen, minimum of 1 year in either culinary training or workforce experience.
• Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
• Satisfactory completion of job specific skills assessment.
• Experience with Toast POS system preferred, but not a must.
• Reliable transportation and communication via cellphone
• 18 years or older
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, daytime, weekends, and holidays. Flexible schedules will be available.
