Overview
The Back of House Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and food preparation areas within our establishment. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will oversee kitchen staff, manage food handling processes, and ensure that all culinary operations run efficiently while delivering exceptional hospitality.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
- Train new employees on food handling procedures, kitchen operations, and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to maintain proper stock for food preparation.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and utensils to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development while maintaining consistency in food preparation.
- Handle cash transactions as needed and oversee cash handling procedures within the kitchen.
Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience in team management, including interviewing, training, and performance evaluation.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques with an understanding of various cooking methods.
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 44 per week
