Bartender
Wildwood Resort and Marina is an amazing place to live, work and play year-round. We are looking for a talented, experienced Bartender to complete our experienced food & beverage team at the resort. Our Bartenders provide lunch and dinner service to guests in our bar and dining room. Our Bartenders also provide service for catered functions and events throughout the year. We look for warm, friendly people with healthy, active lifestyles, high standards and high integrity, who have been top performers in their previous roles and love what they do. As a member of this team, applicants will not only represent our great restaurant & bar, but the wonderful resort as well. We will select bartenders who have what it takes to give exemplary customer service to our guests and who are avid team players. A professional demeanor that is friendly and energetic is a must. Appearance needs to be neat, tidy, and professional. Ideal candidates must possess excellent knowledge about food, wine, beverage, and events to strive and to continue to learn as much as they can.
Qualifications
Ideal qualifications include:
- Prior restaurant/hospitality and/or banquet service experience
- Structured training in restaurant/catering service
- Some knowledge of, training in and interest in drink preparation
- Self-motivated, with experience working independently
- Takes pride in providing fantastic, warm, caring service
- Detail oriented and organized
- TN ABC Certification a plus, but can be obtained within 60 days of start date
- Enjoys being part of a team
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with department managers to ensure good pre-communication leading up to events
- Being present to work with groups real-time to ensure their needs are met and to support any in-the-moment issues that arise
- Ensuring accurate billing via POS system.
- Deliver and serve food and beverages at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Bar Lead, F&B Manager, Executive Chef, and Events Manager
- Set up tables, decorations, and buffet stations with food, beverages, and service items as per standards.
- Serve beverages to guests with professionalism and friendliness.
- Maintain a clean and organized event area during and after the function
- Return leftover food, beverages, and equipment to the designated area promptly after the event.
- Stock, clean, and maintain the event facility and equipment.
- Completing all other assigned side work
- Ensure guests receive excellent and courteous service throughout the event.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu and products available.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the event team.
- Set-up, tend, and breakdown banquet bars, as assigned, according to standard policies and procedures.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner to ensure efficient service
- Communicate professionally with all departments, including management, and be a role model of professionalism
- When finding unsafe conditions and maintenance concerns, address them immediately
Work environment and Physical demands
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
- Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
- Ability to stand and move continuously
- Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum
- Stocking, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Working with required chemicals
- Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours
Details
- Full time position available, hours vary based on business
- Position can be year-round or seasonal
- Will be scheduled in the main bar and will also be scheduled to work corporate events, retreats, and weddings.
- Hours variable, including nights, weekends, and holidays as well as situational/crisis availability;
- Compensation based on experience
