elNico, which is perched on the roof at Penny Hotel Williamsburg, with a panoramic view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines is currently looking to fill the roles of Bar Prep/ Barback.
The indoor/outdoor space has the feel of the living room of that eccentric, well-traveled artist in the family whose home transitions from breakfast nook to late night party pad throughout the course of the day. Led by the collective vision behind the NoMad Hotel, el Nico will continue to offer a culture of gracious hospitality combined with playful elegance and comfort, unfussy approach, and presentation. The vision is led by Leo Robitschek and Cristian Rodriguez formally from NoMad and Eleven Madison Park. The cocktail program specializes in drink collaboration between the kitchen and bar in seasonality, local sourcing, and zero-waste approach to sharing ingredients. Being Mexican inspired, El Nico will offer a wide range of agave based as well as Latin American spirits, with large format drinks and good vibes.

Overview of Roles
Bar Prep is responsible for the production of juices, garnish, citrus and syrups used in all bar location within the hotel and restaurant. They need to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, storage, and surrounding spaces while completing their daily pars. Bar Prep should be able to analyze and understand the needs of the bars while following daily par sheets which will include making items such as specialty syrups, juicing citrus, cut garnish, specialty ice, infusions, cocktail batches, and more.
Barbacks are responsible to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the bar while also assisting Bartenders with service. Barbacks should be able to analyze and understand the needs of the bar at any point of service such as replenishing stock, ice, and glassware while constantly reprioritize these tasks to make sure service run smoothly. In addition, barbacks are expected to know the food, cocktails, wine by the glass, and beer selections so that they can help navigate guests if the bartender is occupied with another task.
