Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Automation Engineer (DevOps) to build, scale, and optimize our cloud platform infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and automation frameworks. In this role, you will be responsible for creating reliable, developer-friendly internal platforms that accelerate software delivery while maintaining strict reliability, security, and operational standards. You will work closely with Software Engineering, Security, and System Operations teams to treat infrastructure as code, eliminate manual operational overhead, and foster a strong culture of continuous deployment and high availability.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation & Cloud Engineering

  • Design, provision, and maintain secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
  • Build and manage container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) to host high-availability, microservices-based application workloads.
  • Automate cloud resource lifecycle management, configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and environment bootstrapping.

CI/CD Pipeline & Developer Enablement

  • Architect, build, and optimize end-to-end continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
  • Reduce deployment friction and lead times by creating self-service tooling, internal developer platforms (IDPs), and standardized service templates.
  • Integrate automated security scanning (SAST/DAST, container scanning, secret detection) and quality gates directly into delivery workflows.

Observability, Reliability & Operations

  • Implement comprehensive telemetry, logging, and monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack) to ensure proactive detection of system bottlenecks.
  • Establish Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and automated recovery procedures to maintain system resilience.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident management, and post-incident root cause analyses (RCAs) to drive continuous operational improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Deep hands-on experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation for enterprise cloud management.
  • Containers & Orchestration: Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS) architecture, Helm charts, and ingress controllers.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Expertise with modern CI/CD tools and GitOps methodologies (ArgoCD, Flux, GitHub Actions).
  • Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or Shell scripting for tool creation, operational automation, and API integration.
  • Cloud Architecture: Strong background in cloud networking (VPCs, DNS, Load Balancers, VPNs), IAM policies, and Zero Trust security models.

Soft Skills & Operational Mindset

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a commitment to automation over manual operations.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with an ability to document platform architectures and mentor product developers on DevOps best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 4+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering roles supporting production cloud environments.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
