Title: Event Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales and Events
Supervision of: Lead/Hourly Associates
Number of Hours Per Week: 45 plus hour work week, typically 8-10 hour shifts; must be able to work shifts, any day of the week, including Friday, Saturday and Sunday; two (2) days off per week with no guarantee that they will be consecutive. Hours of work, shifts and days worked per week may change periodically due to operational needs.
Qualification Standard:
Prior management experience in a similar organization. Minimum of two (2) years event management or related experience with an emphasis on event logistics, vendor management, communication and customer relations and personnel management. A high school diploma or GED is required. A college degree in related fields may be considered in lieu of required experience. Must be able to display ongoing proficiency in the use of event software including CRM and CAD systems, as well as be able to handle all business/administrative, management, technical and training aspects of all types of events.

    Respond quickly and efficiently to customer questions, issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and retention and empowering staff to do the same
    • Responsible for creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, high expectations, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
    • Assist in staff training and development. Work daily to ensure that team members know, understand, and follow company procedures and service standards and are growing and developing to perform at the highest level. Successfully mentoring and training staff
    • Assist in recruiting, hiring, & retention through active participation in the interview process and networking
    • Participate in scheduling with other managers to complete staff schedules in an appropriate manner to meet the needs of the business
    • Assist in planning new event opportunities to increase visibility, collaboration, and revenue for The Fairfield Wedding and Events
    • Assist team with meeting financial objectives for both revenue and expenses, seeking cost savings opportunities while maintaining the highest level of customer experience
    • Assist in supporting the successful execution of events in The Fairfield as needed
    • Ensure that cleanliness, safety standards and regulatory requirements are always met by all team members
    • Provide leadership in identifying areas of opportunity in the overall functioning of The Fairfield supporting and driving process improvement and best practices to continually advance our customer experience
    • Highly attuned to customer needs, acting to address issues or concerns with a sense of urgency to ensure guest satisfaction
    • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Professional demeanor with ability to positively interact with employees, customers, and vendors

    • ServSafe certified or the ability to obtain
    • Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
