Position Summary
At Armor Brewing Company, our barbacks are the backbone of a fast-paced bar. This role is responsible for keeping the bar fully stocked, clean, and organized while supporting bartenders so they can focus on creating exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is hardworking, proactive, and thrives in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Stock beer, liquor, wine, mixers, syrups, garnishes, and bar supplies before and throughout service.
- Change beer kegs safely and efficiently.
- Maintain ice wells and ensure bartenders never run out of ice.
- Polish and restock glassware.
- Prep garnishes, juices, and cocktail ingredients according to Armor Brewing standards.
- Keep the bar clean by wiping surfaces, removing trash, and maintaining organized workstations.
- Collect dirty glassware and assist with dishwashing as needed.
- Restock coolers and back stock throughout the shift.
- Assist bartenders during busy service by anticipating their needs.
- Receive and organize deliveries while following proper rotation and storage procedures.
- Follow all health, safety, and alcohol service standards.
- Help with opening, closing, and deep cleaning duties.
- Maintain a positive attitude while contributing to a team-focused environment.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
These responsibilities align with common industry expectations for barbacks, including restocking, keg changes, glassware maintenance, cleanliness, and supporting bartenders throughout service.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or bar experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds (including full beer kegs).
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to anticipate needs and multitask in a high-volume environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Nights, weekends, and holiday availability required.
- TABC/Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
