Job Overview

Purpose:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to restaurant standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen during busy night and weekend shifts. This position is also responsible for completing all closing duties to ensure the kitchen is ready for the next day.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Set up and stock your station before service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift.
  • Work efficiently during busy service while communicating with the kitchen team.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Restock and rotate food products using FIFO practices.
  • Complete all assigned closing duties, including cleaning equipment, floors, stations, and ensuring the kitchen is properly shut down.
  • Report any equipment issues or low inventory to the Kitchen Manager or Chef.
  • Work as a team to ensure all closing tasks are completed before leaving.

Requirements:

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Previous line cook experience is an asset but not required.

Goal:
Prepare high-quality food efficiently while leaving the kitchen clean, stocked, and ready for the next shift. No employee leaves until all closing responsibilities have been completed.
