About the Apprenticeship
The Store Management & Culture Apprenticeship is designed for ambitious college students who want to gain hands-on experience running a business, leading teams, and developing the skills required to become a future manager, entrepreneur, or business leader.
This apprenticeship provides direct exposure to every aspect of store management, including operations, financial performance, labor management, hiring, coaching, customer experience, and team culture. Apprentices work alongside the Store Manager and leadership team to learn how elite businesses achieve exceptional results while developing employees and creating a positive workplace culture.
This apprenticeship is structured as a management development program, giving students real responsibility, measurable goals, and leadership opportunities throughout the semester.
Apprenticeship Purpose
The goal of the apprenticeship is to develop future leaders by teaching them how to:

- Analyze key business metrics

- Coach employees toward higher performance

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Assist with leading daily operations and shift execution
- Support employee coaching and development conversations
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings
- Help create development plans for team members
- Model company values and leadership standards
- Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives
Culture & Team Accountability
- Help maintain a positive and productive workplace culture
- Observe and address behaviors that impact team morale
- Reinforce company standards and expectations
- Support initiatives that strengthen teamwork and communication
- Learn how leaders create accountability while maintaining trust and respect
Operations Management
- Monitor daily operational performance
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Evaluate service speed, quality, and consistency
- Conduct operational audits and store walks
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Labor Management & Scheduling
- Learn labor forecasting and scheduling strategies
- Assist with schedule creation and adjustments
- Analyze staffing levels based on sales trends
- Monitor labor productivity and efficiency metrics
- Understand labor budgeting and workforce planning
Financial Performance
- Review sales reports and business metrics
- Learn how profitability is measured and managed
- Analyze labor costs, food costs, and operating expenses
- Participate in goal setting and business planning
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and efficiency
Hiring & Talent Development
- Assist with reviewing applications
- Participate in interviews and hiring discussions
- Support onboarding and training processes
- Learn how successful managers identify and develop talent
- Observe performance review processes
Inventory & Supply Management
- Assist with inventory counts and audits
- Participate in ordering and forecasting
- Monitor product waste and inventory accuracy
- Learn systems that support profitability and operational excellence
Qualifications
Required
- Current college student or recent graduate
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Hospitality, or a related field
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Preferred
- Leadership experience in work, athletics, organizations, or volunteer activities
- Customer service experience
- Retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience
