People and Operations Coordinator
Deda Restaurant
55 S Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101, USAJob Overview
About the Role
Deda Restaurant is looking for a People & Operations Coordinator to help us run a well-organized, well-supported team and a smooth, memorable guest experience. This role blends HR generalist work, operations support, and events/marketing assistance, and it's structured as a hybrid position — some HR, events, and on-the-ground operations work happens on-site at the restaurant, while some tasks can often be done remotely. You'll be the connective tissue between our people, our day-to-day operations, and how we show up to our community and guests.
We're happy to train the right candidate on our specific systems and processes, but if you already have some experience in HR, restaurant operations, events, or marketing, that's a real plus.
What You'll Do
People (HR Generalist support)
- Support hiring: posting openings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and helping with onboarding paperwork
- Run payroll: collecting hours, processing pay runs, and resolving payroll questions or discrepancies
- Maintain employee files, certifications (food handler cards, alcohol service permits, etc.), and basic compliance recordkeeping
- Help coordinate scheduling questions, time-off requests, and general employee support alongside management
- Act as a friendly point of contact for staff questions about policies, benefits, and procedures
Operations
- Assist management with day-to-day operational tasks: vendor and supply coordination, inventory checks, and administrative follow-through
- Help maintain SOPs (standard operating procedures) and make sure documentation stays current and accessible
- Conduct safety inspections
Events & Marketing
- Help plan and execute private events, special dinners, and promotions from start to finish
- Support local partnerships, community outreach, and press or influencer coordination as needed
What We're Looking For
- Someone organized, dependable, and comfortable juggling several kinds of work in the same week
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with basic office/admin tools. Experience working on a Mac is a plus.
- Experience in HR, restaurant/hospitality operations, events, or marketing is a plus, but not required if you're a fast learner with the right attitude
- English language proficiensy is a must. Knowledge of Georgian, Spanish, or Russian language is a plus
- Self-motivated enough to stay on top of remote/admin tasks without close supervision
- Ability to work some evenings or weekends around events and restaurant needs
- A genuine interest in food, hospitality, and building a great workplace culture
