Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the restaurant's standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Station Management: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring that all food items are stored and prepared under safe and sanitary conditions.
- Cooking: Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, following proper techniques and procedures.
- Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency in taste, portion size, and appearance.
- Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations, particularly during peak hours.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, and reporting shortages to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Customer Satisfaction: Address special dietary requests and ensure that all food served meets customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred, but not required.
- **Skills:**Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and work in a hot environment.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced kitchen environment
- Evening, weekend, and holiday weekend shifts required
- Standing for extended periods
