Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time as indicated on the daily schedule
- Wash kitchen cooling equipment, dishes, pots, pans, service ware, etc. using three pot sink and washing machinery
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Wash specific items by hand, such as wooden cutting board, large pots and delicate china
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Perform regularly scheduled and special needs cleaning duties
- Empty trash and recycling cans from kitchen and offices while taking it to the appropriate dumpster
- Clean kitchen, cooler and storage. These areas include but are not limited to kitchen floors, mats, windows, trash cans, racks and restrooms
- Report any problems or discrepancies to the Executive Chef
- Ensure kitchen stays clean and organized
- Maintain the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety of the work area, including but not limited to counter tops, stovetops, fryers, floors, walls, shelving and coolers
- Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of quality
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Preserve a clean and pressed uniform while keeping a professional appearance at all times
Skills
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Positive attitude and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to work in shifts during the weekends and evenings
- Must be able to tolerate cold, heat and humid conditions while sometimes walking on uneven or wet surfaces
- Ability to perform moderate physical work. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 15 while performing such activities as standing, walking, lifting for up to five hours without sitting
