Supervisor
Honey Veil South Miami
5748 Sunset Dr, South Miami, FL 33143, USAJob Overview
About This Role
We are looking for a Shift Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads with clarity, accountability, and care for the team. As Shift Supervisor, you will own the flow of the shift—from opening and closing to coaching your team, maintaining quality standards, and handling the unexpected. This role is a blend of hands-on leadership, operational excellence, and genuine hospitality. If you are reliable, solution-oriented, and excited to lead a small team toward a common goal, we want to meet you.
About Honey Veil Café
Honey Veil is a café and bakery concept built on quality ingredients, thoughtful service, and community. We operate multiple locations across the Miami area and a mobile trailer, all committed to creating spaces where customers feel at home. Our menu features carefully sourced coffee, made-from-scratch pastries, and seasonal specials. We are growing and need strong operational leaders to help scale while maintaining our standards.
What Success Looks Like
In 90 days, you will have opened and closed shifts independently, coached baristas to our quality standards, solved real-time problems with clarity, and left your team feeling supported and set up for success. Your team knows they can count on you. Customers feel your hospitality. And management sees a supervisor who owns their shift and communicates proactively.
What You Will Do
• Lead the shift from start to finish—act as the point person on duty, supporting opening and/or closing procedures, completing checklists with attention to detail, activating the store environment, and ensuring smooth service
• Plan the day—assign stations, manage pacing, anticipate operational needs, coordinate priorities between store and mobile trailer, and adjust in real time based on volume and staffing
• Coach and support your team—reinforce standards, model best practices, hold people accountable with respect, and create an environment where baristas feel ownership
• Maintain quality standards—ensure beverages and baked goods meet Honey Veil quality, recipe, presentation, and food safety standards
• Operate with accuracy—support POS accuracy, cash handling, daily inventory counts, product rotation, restocking, and shift documentation
• Manage breaks fairly while maintaining service coverage during peak times
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and warmth
• Communicate proactively—relay inventory shortages, maintenance concerns, and operational updates to management; ensure effective handoff between shifts
• Step into any role (bar, register, runner) as needed to support service flow and model flexibility
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and food safety across the front-of-house, storage, and mobile trailer; prepare all areas for the next shift
What We Are Looking For
Required:
• 1-2 years of supervisory, leadership, or shift lead experience in food service, café, or hospitality
• Strong operational and organizational skills—you are detail-oriented and process-focused
• Ability to lead and coach a small team with clarity, respect, and accountability
• Comfort making real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment and handling problems calmly
• Strong communication skills—you relay information clearly and listen actively
• Genuine customer service orientation and ability to model hospitality
• Reliability, punctuality, and ownership mentality—you follow through and take pride in your work
• Comfortable on your feet for a full shift; ability to multitask and move between hands-on work and leadership
Preferred:
• Barista experience or coffee knowledge
• Experience with inventory management, POS systems, or cash handling
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
• Food handler card or willingness to obtain one
• Experience working with mobile or multi-location operations
