Job Overview

Route 80 Grill is hiring for server. Day/Evening availability and flexibility is preferred. A server's job is to ensure that restaurant customers have a great dining experience. Their responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the dining area: Setting tables, placing napkins, service plates, and cutlery
  • Welcoming guests: Greeting customers and helping them to their tables
  • Taking orders: Receiving orders from customers and transferring them to the kitchen staff
  • Serving food and drinks: Picking up orders from the kitchen and delivering them to customers
  • Providing information: Helping customers choose food and drinks, and answering questions
  • Managing tables: Removing courses as they are finished, refilling drinks, and replenishing utensils
  • Calculating bills: Printing receipts and returning the correct change
  • Adhering to standards: Following the restaurant's service standards and dress code, and adhering to sanitation and safety

Servers should have the following skills and qualities:

  • Customer service: Be attentive, patient, and have excellent communication skills
  • Organization: Be able to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical endurance: Be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds, and stand and walk for long periods
  • Teamwork: Be a team player and have a positive attitude
  • Flexibility: Be able to work weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules

This is a tipped position and all tips (including credit card) are paid out in cash daily. Go home with cash in your pocket after every shift!
