Job Overview

Job Purpose

  • Assist the Dining Room Captain in receiving and checking in guests


  • Greet guests upon entry to the restaurant
  • Answer the telephones
  • Manage the wait list by taking names, numbers, number of guests and other guest information.
  • Know and understand all daily specials, happy hours and live music schedules
  • Operate Greeter stand and understand the reservation system
  • Keep host/hostess stand neat, clean and organized at all times; restock business cards
  • Keep menus neat, clean and organized
  • Place lounge menus in place when needed
  • Help bus and reset tables for incoming guests; assist Dining Room Captain, Front-Server/Back Server
  • Complete assigned opening and closing side work
  • Any other customary, ordinary and reasonable duties normally associated with this job position

Physical Requirement

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
