The Beach Brothers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to assist our General Manager in all missions, goals, expectations, and maintaining the success of the hotel and staff.
Must have at least one year of management experience, preferably in the hospitality industry, to be considered for this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage everyday activities, plan, and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers.
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognize good performance.
  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create a sense of one team.
  • Train team members to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently.
  • Help the General Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel.
  • Provide regular direction and manage hotel operations for all departments.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel staff.
  • Assist the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals.
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate to appropriate departments all relevant information requirements and special needs for arriving VIP’s, large groups and other key guests.
  • Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with the hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain relations with outside contacts.
  • Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a “green” hotel.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services.
  • Act as the General Manager in his/her absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in a management role.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Experience in employee training.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
  • Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash or credit.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • 1 year of management experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hotel management, or related field.
  • Knowledge of OPERA or similar hotel property management software (PMS).
  • Familiarity with financial and budgeting procedures.
  • Proven ability in providing exceptional guest service.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the hospitality industry.
