Some responsibilites include:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setup or breakdown dishwashing area.
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
- Load, run and unload dish machine.
- Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to kitchen and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before storing. Never touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
- Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle. Change dish water in dish machine frequently and check sprayers for clogs.
- Wash pots, pans and sheets pans by hand.
- Keep dish room clean and organized.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies, notify supervisor when low. Ensure that all chemical containers are clearly labeled.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster. Empty outdoor trash receptacles daily.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
- Perform general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
- Keep mops, brooms and dust pans for utility areas clean and separate from dining room supplies.
- Ensure floor mat are clean and laid out in the proper order and edges are locked together to prevent slipping and tripping.
- Clean and store catering equipment in designated areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
- Be physically able to lift, bend, reach and stoop.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Be able to read labels on chemicals.
