Position Summary
The Bartender at Little Italy Ristorante is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by crafting beverages, taking orders, and serving guests. This role entails creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining the bar area, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards. The Bartender will work collaboratively with the FOH team to deliver high-quality service and enhance the overall guest experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Greet guests as they arrive at the bar area and provide them with beverage menus.
- Take beverage and food orders accurately and promptly.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following standard recipes.
- Engage with guests to ensure they are enjoying their experience and resolve any issues promptly.
- Provide information about our menu and suggest beverages to complement meals.
Bar Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning bar surfaces, and organizing supplies.
- Check identification to ensure customers meet the legal drinking age.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, ensuring stock levels are adequate and ordering supplies as needed.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Ensure the bar area complies with all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and delivered promptly.
- Assist in training new bar staff on Little Italy Ristorante’s standards and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving service and operational efficiency.
- Support the FOH team during peak times by helping with seating guests, taking additional orders, or assisting with any other tasks as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Work Experience: Proven experience as a bartender in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks is essential.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using POS systems and cash handling.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work in a noisy environment and late hours.
- Certifications: Must be of legal drinking age and possess any necessary alcohol server permits or certifications required by local law.
