Job Description

The Barista is the face of Stone Tower, providing the first contact with the Stone Tower brand to our customers. Baristas share their knowledge and passion for the company’s products and services, providing customers with appropriate recommendations. Our Baristas work directly with the Head Barista and management to provide quality drinks according to the recipes set at all Stone Tower locations, while ensuring a smooth workflow.

Job Duties

  • Coffee Preparation & Quality Control
    • Prepare and serve high quality beverages, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
    • Learns and consistently applies all Stone Tower recipes as presented, including meeting temperature and presentation standards.
    • Participate in cleaning and sanitizing of work areas and equipment according to the food code.
  • Customer Service
    • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Take orders and provide knowledgeable recommendations to customers on coffee and tea as needed.
    • Address customer concerns and/or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positively memorable experience.
  • Operational Support & Inventory Management
    • Monitor coffee and supply inventory levels, ensuring freshness and proper communication of inventory levels to the Head Barista.
    • Execute open, mid-shift, and closing procedures.
    • Follow all cash handling procedures.
    • Execute daily equipment maintenance.
    • Ensure the cleanliness of customer-facing spaces, such as restrooms, patios, tables, etc. throughout the day.
  • Other duties as assigned.
    • While this description aims to capture all duties and responsibilities of the barista position, we recognize that some flexibility is required for emergency situations and potential changes in staffing.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid Food Handler certification or be willing to obtain one prior to starting employment, at the company’s expense.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Preferred experience with Point of Sale platforms, such as Square, but not required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds and perform repetitive motions.
