BAKER
Claudine Kitchen & Bakeshop is a busy, chef-driven breakfast, lunch and bakery operation committed to excellent food, consistent quality and genuine hospitality. Our Bakers prepare scratch-made baked goods while maintaining Claudine’s standards for quality, consistency, organization and food safety.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Set up and organize the bakery for daily production
  • Prepare, bake, finish and portion bakery items according to established recipes and specifications
  • Accurately follow recipes, measurements, production lists and presentation standards
  • Safely operate ovens, mixers, stoves, knives and other bakery equipment
  • Inspect finished products for quality, doneness, consistency and presentation
  • Monitor production and promptly communicate ingredient, equipment or quality concerns
  • Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift
  • Label, date, rotate and properly store ingredients and finished products
  • Accurately complete required production, waste, labeling and inventory records
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized bakery and storage area
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety procedures
  • Minimize waste and use ingredients responsibly
  • Work closely with bakery leadership and other team members to complete production on time
  • Complete other reasonable duties needed to support bakery operations

  • Valid California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bakers must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Stand and walk for up to nine hours during a shift
  • Frequently reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat, crouch and kneel
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Push, pull and move ingredients, equipment, racks and supplies
  • Use hands continuously to grasp, measure, mix, prepare, carry and handle food, tools and equipment
  • Safely work around ovens, stoves, mixers, knives, hot surfaces and other commercial bakery equipment
  • See, hear and communicate sufficiently to safely and accurately perform assigned responsibilities
  • Read and follow recipes, labels, production lists and written or verbal instructions
  • Accurately measure ingredients and perform basic calculations
  • Maintain attention, recall information and organize multiple production priorities
  • Recognize product quality, doneness, consistency and presentation standards
  • Solve routine production problems and communicate concerns promptly
  • Work efficiently under time pressure and manage interruptions
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with leadership and other team members

SCHEDULE
Applicants must be available for the shifts required by bakery production. Shifts may begin early in the morning and may include weekends and holidays.

COMPENSATION
Hourly rate plus applicable tips.
