We are now hiring for The Prairie Market!!! You'd be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring that all shelves are stocked with merchandise. This role involves interacting with customers, answering their questions, and ensuring they have a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service:Greet customers as they enter the store.
    Assist customers with locating products and answering their questions.
    Provide information about store policies, product availability, and promotions.
    Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a friendly and efficient manner.
  2. Sales and Transactions:Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
    Process payments, issue receipts, and handle returns and exchanges.
    Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
    Assist with lottery ticket sales and other special transactions.
  3. Store Maintenance:Ensure the store is clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
    Restock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise.
    Check inventory levels and inform the manager of low stock or potential shortages.
    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage areas.
  4. Merchandising:Ensure products are properly labeled and priced.
    Arrange displays to attract customers and promote sales.
    Monitor expiration dates on perishable items and rotate stock as needed.
    Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
  5. Security and Safety:Monitor the store for suspicious activity and report any security concerns to the manager.
    Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
  6. Additional Duties:Participate in training programs and staff meetings.
    Assist with special projects or tasks as assigned by the manager.
    Provide backup support for other staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pouted in joining our team nds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.

Work Environment:

  • Retail store environment with frequent customer interaction.
  • Exposure to a variety of products, including food items and cleaning supplies.
