Job Overview

Primary Objective of Position:
The Assistant Manager, under the supervision of the Manager, is responsible giving instructions to crewmembers and is held responsible for the work and actions of other employees. The Assistant Manager is first and foremost an overseer whose main responsibility is to ensure that the Crewmembers complete their job duties when they are supposed to do it and within acceptable levels of quality, costs and safety. In the absence of the Manager, the Assistant Manager may direct restaurant operations to ensure compliance with concept and health and safety standards.
Essential Functions:
o Oversees the training of non-management employees.
o Assigns duties and responsibilities to employees based upon work requirements.
o Communicates with employees, customers, vendors, and concept personnel for various purposes.
o Interviews job candidates.
o Rectifies customer complaints.
o Exchanges and gathers information from employees and customers.
o Contacts employees to modify employee work schedules.
o Maintains documentation in employee personnel files.
o Documents events in the Redbook/manager’s log.
o Distribute cash drawers and cash out crewmembers.
o Operates a computer and associated software (MS Office, internet) and computerized cash register.
o When needed, may perform the duties of a food server, expediter, line cook, busser, bartender, cashier, food runner or any other position in the restaurant.
