We’re looking for friendly, reliable Baristas who enjoy learning, working in a fast‑paced environment, and providing outstanding customer service.

Position Overview

The Barista is responsible for preparing high‑quality beverages, serving guests with warmth and efficiency, maintaining a clean and organized front‑of‑house, and supporting daily café operations. This role includes learning coffee and espresso skills, stocking supplies, preparing bakery displays, and using café equipment such as the Merrychef oven and POS system.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

  • Learn and master espresso extraction, milk steaming, and specialty drink preparation
  • Prepare lattes, cappuccinos, Canadiano's, affogatos, smoothies, chillers, and other café beverages
  • Serve ice cream and create ice cream-based drinks
  • Follow recipes and quality standards consistently

Front of House & Customer Service

  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
  • Operate the POS system for orders, payments, and customer interactions
  • Set up and maintain the bakery display each morning
  • Restock milk, coffee beans, syrups, ice‑cream, and other supplies throughout the day

Food Preparation

  • Use the Merrychef oven to heat and prepare bakery and food items
  • Assist with basic food prep and portioning as required
  • Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are followed

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and complete daily cleaning checklists
  • Assist with closing and opening duties, including prep for the next day

General Café Support

  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations
  • Follow all café procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards
  • Support other barista‑related duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous barista or café experience is an asset but not required — we will train
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfortable learning new equipment and processes
  • Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
