Job Overview

Job Purpose

  • Provide the necessary support to servers to ensure clean and set tables, proper table settings, stocking and restocking of necessary items required for service.


  • Clear plates when guests are finished
  • Break down tables after guests have left
  • Reset tables within proper restaurant protocols
  • Clean all glass and mirrors
  • Service table through each course; pre-bus table between course
  • Sweep dining areas
  • Restock all server station needs, i.e. glasses, silverware etc.
  • Crumb table
  • Keep all sections organized and clean at all times
  • Assist Dining Room Captain where and when needed
  • Must maintain proper dress code
  • Be friendly, upbeat, and knowledgeable of menu and accommodating to all guests
  • Complete necessary side-work and re-stocking as needed or assigned
  • Follow New York State Liquor Authority and beverage service related laws
  • Follow Suffolk County Department of Health Food and Beverage service laws and regulations
  • Any other customary, ordinary and reasonable duties normally associated with this job position

Physical Requirement

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
