  • 1-2+ years of experience as a line cook in a cafe, restaurant, or similar setting
  • Comfortable cooking eggs, toast-based dishes, and simple hot builds to order
  • Able to work clean and organized in a small space
  • Can follow recipes and plating specs consistently and repeat them every day
  • Communicates well under pressure and works well with both FOH and BOH
  • Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their station
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Just cooking to order on a small line
  • The Line Cook - Savory (Toast Menu) is responsible for setting up, running, and breaking down a compact hot line focused on sourdough toasts, eggs, and simple plated builds
  • You'll cook to order during service, keep the station clean and organized, and work closely with the Head Cook / Savory Kitchen Lead
  • Cooking & Service
  • Set up, run, and break down a small hot station for toast-based savory items (eggs, spreads, toppings, etc.)
  • Cook to order during service, following Honey Veil recipes and plating standards
  • Hit consistent temps, seasoning, and presentation on every plate
  • Communicate with FOH and expo during rushes to keep tickets flowing smoothly
  • Station Setup & Prep
  • Complete your daily station prep list (cutting, portioning, basic cooking steps) so you're ready for service
  • Keep backups and mise en place organized, labeled, and easy to grab mid-rush
  • Communicate low items, 86s, and needed prep to the Head Cook / Savory Kitchen Lead
  • Cleanliness & Food Safety
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized station before, during, and after service
  • Follow all food safety standards: labeling, dating, storage, temperatures, and cross-contamination prevention
  • Help with daily and weekly cleaning tasks for the savory area (flat top, smallwares, refrigeration, etc.)
  • Teamwork & Communication
  • Work closely with the Head Cook / Savory Kitchen Lead and the rest of BOH to keep service smooth
  • Call out ticket times, issues, and needs clearly and calmly during busy periods
  • Support a respectful, calm kitchen culture-even when it gets slammed
  • Primarily daytime/brunch-heavy shifts, including weekends and some holidays
  • The kinds of stations or menus you've run before (especially brunch or toast/sandwich style)
  • Your availability and your target hourly rate within the posted range
