At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our Cold Cooks are the artists behind the fresh and vibrant side of our menu. From crisp salads to beautifully plated appetizers and desserts, you’ll bring color, flavor, and finesse to every dish. With your precision and attention to detail, you’ll ensure that each plate tells the story of our Spanish-inspired cuisine before it even reaches the table.

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare mise en place for the cold station, including salads, cold appetizers, garnishes, and desserts.
  • Execute cold dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the cold station throughout service.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and proper storage of cold ingredients.
  • Monitor the freshness and quality of all cold prep items.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and proper ticket times.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
  • Support other stations and prep work when needed.

Skills 

  • Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a high-volume or upscale restaurant.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to presentation details.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Food Handler certification.
