JOB SUMMARY: Line Cooks perform essential functions that include but are not limited to setting up, cleaning and maintaining stations, preparing food, following recipes, restocking items, and using equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, mixers, and knives. It is a non-exempt, hourly position. The primary responsibilities and duties are outlined below. These may vary based on management’s observations and direction. The Company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
LINE COOK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Service - 100% of Time
1. Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
2. Cleans and maintains station while practicing good safety, sanitation and organizational skills
3. Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all station equipment
4. Prepares all food items in a sanitary and timely manner
5. Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
6. Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift
7. Assists in cleaning, sanitizing and organizing kitchen, walk-in refrigerators and storage areas
8. Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Café Chef or Kitchen Lead

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Food Handler Certificate Required
High school diploma Preferred
Previous prep or line cook experience Required
Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation Preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Line Cook is constantly required to stand during the workday. The Line Cook is required to use his/her
hands to carry, operate equipment, and prepare food. Lifting, pushing, pulling and/or moving is frequent.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Specific physical abilities and the degree of frequency
are:
Ability to stand for up to 9+ hours while working (continuous)
Ability to reach in all directions (frequent and continuous)
Ability to lift 50 lbs (moderate to frequent)
Ability to use hands to grasp, carry, handle or feel (continuous)
Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, squat and crouch (moderate to frequent)
Ability to climb and lift items (occasionally)
