Assistant Manager – Surfside Kitchen (Vilano Beach, FL)
Surfside Kitchen is looking for a motivated and hospitality-driven Assistant Manager to join our team! We’re a coastal casual gastropub located in Vilano beach, serving scratch-made food with great vibes and genuine service.

Salary
$44,200.00 - $57,200.00 per year
What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager and ownership to keep the restaurant running smoothly day-to-day. Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Culture
- Lead by example with professionalism and positive energy
- Support staff development, coaching, and feedback
- Help maintain a fun, accountable, and service-focused environment
Operations
- Assist in opening/closing shifts and daily execution
- Help manage guest service and recoveries during busy periods
- Support scheduling, communication, and shift coverage
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are followed
- Assist with FOH and BOH inventory and ordering needs
Training & Development
- Learn and understand all stations FOH and BOH
- Help onboard and train new team members
- Reinforce menu knowledge, service standards, and policy updates
Communication & Admin
- Support documentation and administrative tasks
- Communicate clearly with the team, GM, and ownership
- Participate in staff meetings and management meetings as needed
- Even though this is an exempt role, you will still clock in and out for time tracking
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal person:
- Has prior restaurant leadership experience (Supervisor, Shift Lead, FOH Manager, etc.)
- Enjoys helping teams win and providing excellent hospitality
- Handles pressure with a calm, problem-solving mindset
- Communicates well and is comfortable holding people accountable
- Shows up, works hard, and cares about guest experience
License and Certifications
- ServSafe® Manager Certificate (preferred) or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to safely lift ( up to 50 lbs) and move items as part of stocking/opening/closing
